Morse Code- Morse code is the system telegraph operators use to translate dots and dashes too a message. They translate the message from the sender into morse code, then it is to be sent to the destination's telegraph office where there the operator would then translate the letter back onto paper and deliver it to the receiver.

The use of the telegraph-

To send a telegram you deliver your message to a telegraph office. There, an operator enters then translates the message into Morse code and routes it to its destination. And the receiving end, machines translate the encodes the message back into words and gives the telegraph to the reciever. The telegraph office may hand deliver or telephone the message to the person receiving it. At the beginning when the telegraph was first invented people had to communicate in the Morse code manually. The machine had a tapper that a person could tap. Those taps would then be transmitted over a wire to another device that would receive that tapping code. That tapping code would have to then be interpreted by another person on that end. Then the message would be successfully sent without a letter. Soon technology had advanced enough to where the machines interprets and decodes the Morse code.

Type's Of Telegraphy

Optical Telegraphs - is a system of conveying information by means of visual signals, using towers with pivoting shutters, also known as blades or paddles.

Electrical Telegraphs - is a telegraph that uses electrical signals, usually conveyed via dedicated communication lines or radio. The electromagnetic telegraph is a device for human-to-human transmission of coded messages.

Morse Telegraphs - Telegraphs that used morse code.

Wireless Telegraphs - They came around due to the discover that Morse code could be transmitted by radio waves (electromagnetic waves), It was discovered in 1886. Though the first practical wireless telegraphy transmitters and receivers were actually developed  in 1895.

In my opinion, these are the most important facts about the telegraph you would need too know if researching. I hope you found this site helpful in your life. :)
